Based Young Men - Mark Your Calendars!

The Church needs her based young men to consider vocations in the office of the holy ministry.

There is an extraordinary event to help young men in this discernment process: the Maier Conference, the weekend of Friday, May 2, 2025 in the Orlando, Florida area. Registration is open.

The Maier Conference will be held at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winter Garden, Florida, where the Rev. Roberto Rojas serves. If you have never met Pastor Rojas or visited this unique newly-built traditional sanctuary, you are in for a treat! There is nothing that even hints at contemporary worship here. Pastor Rojas designed the sanctuary so that it would essentially require the building itself to be demolished before the altar, font, and pulpit could be moved. When we say that Zion is based, we mean it literally.

There is no better host for based young men than based Pastor Rojas and based Zion.

The cost is minimal ($30 for students, $40 for adults). Inexpensive flights to Orlando are plentiful. And the speakers will also be based: the Reverend Fathers Willie Grills, Adam Koontz, and Andrew Preus. They are clearly not messing around here. If you are serious about ministry, this is an event that you will want to attend.

That said, this will also be a fun event, with a barbecue, softball, and other social time built in - along with Matins, Vespers, and an optional Sunday Mass.
