St. Andrew's Ode to the Cross
Tradition has it that as St. Andrew (Feast Day: November 30) was being led to the place of his crucifixion, he saw the cross on which he was to die and uttered the following words:
“Hail, O precious cross! Bid welcome to a disciple of Him that hung upon thee, even Christ my Master. God bless thee, O cross, sacred to the body of Christ. May His members offer themselves as jewels to adorn thee.”
