Free Dinner, Beer, and Wine during Symposia, also Sabre of Boldness
Gottesdienst will host a reception at 6:00 pm at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Ft. Wayne on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 A+D. The light dinner, snacks, beer, and wine are provided to all guests free of charge. This is a donation from Redeemer. The highlight of the reception is the award of the Sabre of Boldness for 2018 at 7:00 pm.
The Sabre is awarded each year by the editors to a person who has displayed conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity on behalf of the Holy Church of Christ while engaged in the confession of His pure Gospel in the face of hostile forces and at the greatest personal risk. Nominations for the Sabre are being sought now. They can be sent to Father Eckardt at b.f.eckardt@gmail.com. The nominations should include the name, address, and telephone number of the nominee and the reasons why he is a fitting choice for Sabre Bearer. The degree of the adversity, steadfast resistance to pressures to compromise, heedlessness of threats, and clarity of confession are considered most seriousy and should be brought out in the reasons for the nomination. The slate will close on Tuesday, January 15th, but be aware: later nominations are more difficult to verify and therefore are sometimes dropped. To give your candidate the chance he deserves, nominate now. Again, send your nominations to: b.f.eckardt@gmail.com
Redeemer Lutheran Church is located at 202 West Rudisill Boulevard, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46807.
NOTE: This is both a change in venue and date for the Sabre ceremony from years past. This is the night before the symposia banquet. The deadline for nominations is Tuesday that week. The ceremony will be on Wednesday at 7:00 pm.
