Out of the barn!
Once again the faithful stallion rides! Gottesdienst is on its way to a mailbox near you (we assume). Another stellar issue, of course! I mean, for starters, just look at this beautiful cover!
Inside, there’s a marvelous article about nonverbal communication by Larry Beane; and John Stephenson’s incisive lament “Whither Worship” in his inimitable style, Mark Braden’s continuing rubrics column, this time on mass in a small parish, that leaves no instructional stone unturned, a guest article by Peter Burfeind that boldly takes on on the question of the Historic Liturgy as it relates to politics. Sean Daenzer wonders aloud how to handle J. S. Bach, who is normally and regrettably forgotten in the Sunday liturgy, and a fine poem by Kurt Reinhart. The chief ed (your humble scribe) meanders into the question of myth and its enduring truthfulness in its various manifestations. And as usual there are some fine sermons and letters to the editor.
