Flood Update: Zion Evangelical-Lutheran Church of Detroit
Zion Detroit was hit hard by the record flooding in metro Detroit. There are updates on the Zion Facebook page, as well as pictures, regarding the flood and its aftermath: https://www.facebook.com/ZionDetroit
In anticipation of restoration costs greatly exceeding any coverage we may have, Zion has opened a Go Fund Me page: https://www.gofundme.com/f/h87vk-flood-restoration?qid=2f8d3a6f5e701b0e50cac05fb0100139
We are currently working on power restoration, so that crews can come in and start necessary demolition.
Thanks to Paul Snoes, Chairman of our Board of Trustees, for his hard work heading up the clean-up and restoration efforts. Thanks also to Tom Habitz, our congregational Chairman; Kris Murphy, our secretary; Archdeacon David Stechholz, and the many volunteers for their efforts on Zion’s behalf.
Updates will be forthcoming as information comes in – watch the Zion Facebook page.
Thank you for your prayers and support.
In Christ,
--Fr. Mark Braden
